Summer 2024: The End of A Chapter

Dearest Friends,
We had hoped this would be a news video, but we keep passing colds back and forth, so commence the written word!
Thank you for taking the time to read this important update. We have some significant news to share with you. While we have personally informed as many of our financial partners as we were able, it is time to share this news with everyone.
As we mentioned in our last video, our eleven-year-old niece has been living with us again since February and truly has become like a daughter to us. We would not be able to take her with us and she has expressed that she will always need us. We have increasingly been feeling like we are juggling eggs and we have come to the point where we have to drop an egg: missions or our niece. We cannot let that egg be her while we move halfway around the world.
We initially chose to partner with Avant because of their focus on unreached people groups and their care for the missionary family. Avant continued to counsel us that our family is our first mission field. We are blessed to have the full support of Avant and our sending church in this decision. After many prayers and tears in the recent months, we have officially resigned from Avant.
Our desire is to pursue overseas missions in the future. For now, Minot is our mission field. All the funds we raised will be donated as a one-time contribution to the media center. If our only impact towards missions in Spain and North Africa was raising significant funds for others, we will consider that a valuable outcome.
The Lord knows what He is doing. Beyond the financial aspects, this journey has brought us so much education and healing. We would not change a thing about this experience.
Since our account is closed, recurring gifts are no longer active. However, if you wish to redirect the funds you had set aside for missions, we have a close friend who is an Avant missionary currently raising support to work with North African refugees in Southern Spain. We would be happy to connect you with her if you would like to learn more about her mission.
Right now, we ask for your prayers as we navigate this transition. We are incredibly grateful for the prayers and support you have given us over the past year and a half. We love you all so much and feel blessed by you. To quote the Apostle Paul:
Yours Truly,
The Weigels
